Overview

While it is not a legal requirement for organisations to have an equal opportunities policy, it is certainly good practice. An equal opportunities policy demonstrates your organisation’s commitment to equal opportunities and sets out your expectations of the workforce (including employees, temporary workers, contractors and job applicants). If you are an organisation with service users and/or customers (including suppliers) you may find it helpful to include reference to them in your equal opportunities policy. This tool is designed to assist you produce and implement an equal opportunities policy in your organisation.
